Is it worth sticking with this game is this has been my experience so far? I'm only 45 minutes in, but I'm disappointed with to stop already. Combat so far just seems to be mashing Y and then using the brush. Especially compared to how cool they felt in Epic Mickey. The features I was looking forward to such as painting with the brush, are actually kind of disappointing. ![]() I get that the start of the game needs a tutorial section, but this is literally one of the most annoying introductions to a game I've played. That stupid bug interrupts you every five seconds to explain gameplay mechanics that are actually entirely self-evident. It feels like they could have stripped four out of every five lines of dialogue, but instead they're determined to frustrate the player before they're even able to start playing the game.Īfter 20-minutes of spamming the A button, finally you can control the wolf dude. The characters are super "quirky", particularly the little bug guy, which just makes it a real chore to get through as you smash A. Except after watching the intro you're presented with the same simple story extended for literally 20 minutes of irritating exposition dump. ![]() Then a magical wolf defeated the monster and the town was saved. There was a town with a monster that caused trouble. The game begins with a short two-minute cut scene that explains the backstory. But so far, the art is the only thing that's lived up to my expectations. Run fast, leap high, fight the enemy with tooth and claw, Okami, please save us. I was always a fan of cel-shaded graphics since playing Windwaker. Okami, white wolf god that runs through the heavenly forest, your people need you. Instead of the usual anime or 3D - Okami's inspiration comes from. After playing for 35 minutes though, I'm worried that it isn't the game I hoped it would be.įirst, the art style is gorgeous. Get your Xbox, PSP, DS and PS2 ready, because this month's Pipevine is piping hot. ![]() Yesterday, I saw it for sale for the Switch on the Nintendo store and when I woke up ill today I was excited to finally play it. I've been excited to play Okami since it was first announced on GameCube, but I never got round to picking it up at the time.
